2nd Annual Festival of Rising Stars
featuring Michelle Malone, Tegan & Sara, Antigone Rising, and Brian Webb
One of the hottest tickets of the season! This show features four of the most talented rising stars in North America.
Michelle Malone, an Atlanta-based singer/songwriter, is known for playing guitar and mandolin with the Indigo Girls, but she also plays ripping sets with her own band. She lit it up at the Songstreet Rock Fest last year. The New York Times writes: she is "the kind of singer/songwriter who can jolt things into overdrive."
Tegan & Sara, originally from Calgary, but now based in Vancouver, are twin sisters with soaring harmonies, who've created quite a buzz in the U.S. and are touring this fall with their band.
Antigone Rising, a hit at last year's rock fest, was a 1998 Lilith Fair Winner. A hot, up-and-coming nad from New York, their music has been described as having a "pushy edge in the tradition of Alanis Morissette" (The Record).
Brian Webb is one of the hottest male singer/songwriters in the Boston folk/pop scene. Originally from Atlanta, his career is beginning to take off in Beantown. He recently played Club Passim to an overflow crowd-many had to be turned away.
Tickets: $18.50, $17.50, $16.50; $2 off for students, seniors, youths. Add $1 day of show.

Ellis Paul (CD Release Concert)
With special guest Rachael Davis
Winner of 10 Boston Music Awards (more than any other male artist in the singer/songwriter category), Ellis Paul celebrates the release of yet another great CD, The Speed of Trees. Regarded as one of the top songwriters in the country over the past several years, it's hard to believe that he just keeps getting betterˇbut he does.
Rachael Davis looks to be emerging as the next great female voice to come out of Boston. Originally from Lansing, MI, Rachael moved to Boston in the Fall of 2001 and has been heating up the scene since with her unique, multi-octave, soulful voice. The band Eddie from Ohio remarked, "with a voice like that, we could listen to her sing the alphabet all night."
Tickets: $21, $19. Add $1 day of show.
